The bathrooms at the new place left a wee bit to be desired. Structurally they were sound, but the previous tenants had added some "flair" of their own by way of black faux-marble stick down tiles, and a less-than-stellar upkeep of the vanities/toilets/etc. So after we decided to update both, we started on the first this past weekend. We will get to the master bath eventually but at least we have one pretty one to look at until then! ;-)
Here is the old floor:
And the old vanity:
Demo begins:
and now onto the beautification of our "new" bathroom!
Our plan was to do a random pattern with varying sizes of the same type of tile. We found tile that we liked and I went to work laying out the pattern we'd use on graph paper:
Brent had the tile down in less than 3 hrs!:
This was my part in the whole thing:
We primed and painted the walls and then the next day grouted the tile:
Ok so technically I primed and painted and Brent grouted. :-)
The new toilet, vanity, and faucet:
...and the kiddos helping daddy with the water lines. ;-)
We still have the shower rod and towel bar to install, and then I will get my "finished" photos.

That faucet looks familiar! ;)
I really like the "after"... the tile is cool and the vanity is beautiful!

LOL! I told Brent that I thought that was the same faucet you had, so I went back through your blog and, sure enough! (great minds) ;-) We were originally going to go with brushed nickel for everything, but after looking at it all again we decided to go with the oil-brushed bronze. We will be changing out all the hardware (doorknobs, hinges, faucets, etc) in the house to match eventually.
Sounds familiar!
Told Brent it was nice not seeing any "plumber's butt"!! LOL!!! ;)
You and I may be scaring Brent on how much alike we are... ;)
