On the down side, it didn't really feel like Christmas this year. Not exactly sure why, but I'm guessing that all the stress of moving, not finding the time to fully decorate the house, and missing church for the first time EVER, had something to do with it.
However, on the plus side I did get a few gifts that make my cooks heart sing! :-) First my hubby let me pick out something from Le Creuset for our new kitchen:
Then a wonderful house warming surprise showed up from my new friend Stef (thank you again!):
I cannot wait to dive in and try some of the delicious recipes in there!
and finally, my Aunt Bev got me this:
a wonderful calendar from Food Network that comes with a new reicpe to try every weekend, and wonderful tips and tricks on the other days.
I will be a busy lady in the kitchen this year! Lots of new things to try.

Happy New Year, Kate! Thanks for the shout-out! :)
It does look like you had a cook's Christmas!!! I like the sound of the calendar... am going to have to look at it.
Is your new pan blue or black? I don't have any of the stone bakeware. How's it different than Pampered Chef?
Can't wait to see what cool stuff you make in your new pan. ;)

SO jealous (in a totally not mean way, of course) of your LeCreuset baking dish! I have come to LOVE enamelware. We got a Cuisinart enamelware brownie pan as an engagement gift, and I'm wishing we had registered for more like it instead of the nonstick stuff we have. You'll have to post about what you make in it!
Stef- The pan is blue (an absolutely beautiful blue too!), and it is an enamel covered stoneware, as best I can tell. So it is different from the stone I have from pampered chef, I have the pizza stone.
I've only had the chance to use it once so far, but will be using it again in the near future!
April- I love everything else I got so far from Le Creuset, this included, I will keep you posted as I figure out what cooks best in this one.
I would love to know how it cooks compared to the Pampered Chef stones. I have several and love them. I don't have a square one, but know someone with one and we could compare! ;)
