Why yes of course I am talking about the toothfairy!

Daughter recently presented with her first loose tooth. For over a week we heard little more than status updates about the level of wiggle, and what she thought for sure the toothfairy would bring her.

Since it had been a couple years since I had any interaction with said toothfairy I took to facebook and polled family and friends as to what exactly was the going rate these days. 

Here are a few of the responses:

~ Now a days the tooth fairy needs to find new angles. Maybe leave a note the first night stating if a chore gets done tomorrow then x amount of dollars will be left in exchange for your tooth. Teaches the whole 'Business' side of things. Haha ;) 

~ I would say a dollar-the price seems to have went up with inflation!!!

~ We were lucky to 25 cents. maybe a silver dollar if you can find one. 1/2 a dollar if you think your kids are gonna want to spend it. 

~ I say $1. I got a quarter.. !!!! 

~ A roll of nickles - they will think they are rich! or maybe that only worked on me 

~ The bank has those golden dollar coins w/some dead president on them or the ones with sacajawea. They are like a treasure b/c you can't just get them anywhere

...and a few more. It seems that I wasn't alone in getting quarters for my teeth. 

During the polling I was given a link to a blog post on "tooth pillows", adorable little creations that hold your child's tooth and hang on the door allowing easier access for the toothfairy. Let's face it, if your kiddo is a light sleeper, she needs all the help she can get!

I began crafting a princess tooth for daughter the next day, and it took me quite awhile to finish. I think the use of a sewing machine would be beneficial, I did not have the luxury so the teeth I made were all hand sewn. Yes, I said teeth. I figured while I was at it I would get started making her brother one and perhaps one for a friend.

It turned out ok and worked beautifully. The toothfairy had an easy time getting in and out without being detected.
